Job Description

The Residential Youth Worker supports young people living in residential care by providing supervision, emotional support, mentoring and assistance with daily routines. Responsibilities may include maintaining a safe and stable home environment, responding to behavioural or emotional needs, documenting incidents, supporting education and community participation, and following care plans and safeguarding procedures. Candidates generally need relevant experience in youth work, residential care, disability support or community services, along with strong communication, resilience and sound judgement. A current police check, Working with Children Check, relevant qualifications such as Certificate IV in Youth Work or Community Services, a driver’s licence and flexibility for shift work, weekends and public holidays may be required.
