Destination Guide

Australia is a large island continent with opportunities in aviation, technology, healthcare, engineering, finance, education, tourism and skilled trades. Major employment centres include Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide, while airline roles may also be based near regional airports. Australian workplace culture is generally direct, practical, collaborative and respectful of work-life balance. Lifestyle options range from busy coastal cities and beaches to relaxed regional communities, with outdoor activities, sport and multicultural food central to daily life. Living costs, especially rent, can be high in Sydney and Melbourne. Most overseas workers need an appropriate visa, such as a skilled, employer-sponsored, graduate or working holiday visa; eligibility depends on occupation, qualifications, age and English ability. Relocating usually requires health insurance, tax and banking arrangements, accommodation and a tax file number. Check official Australian government immigration guidance before making plans.
