Destination Guide

The United Kingdom offers employment across logistics, healthcare, technology, construction, hospitality, finance and professional services, with London, Manchester, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Bristol among major job centres. British culture is diverse and generally polite, with strong traditions in pubs, sport, music and local community life. Lifestyle varies from busy city living to quieter coastal and rural areas; public transport is good in many cities, though a car can be useful outside them. Non-UK nationals usually need a visa and permission to work before starting employment. The Skilled Worker route applies only to eligible jobs with an approved sponsor, and postal delivery roles may not qualify. Irish citizens have separate work rights under the Common Travel Area. Relocating requires planning for accommodation, National Insurance, banking, healthcare registration and tax. Housing costs are highest in London and the southeast, while other regions can be more affordable.
