Destination Guide

Malaysia offers hospitality opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, catering, tourism, and events. Major destinations include Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya, while island and coastal locations such as Langkawi, Penang, Tioman, and Sabah attract resort workers. Malaysian culture blends Malay, Chinese, Indian, and Indigenous traditions, with English commonly used in hotels alongside Malay. Lifestyle costs are generally moderate, though central Kuala Lumpur and popular resort islands can be more expensive. Putrajaya is modern, spacious, green, and quieter than Kuala Lumpur, with good road connections. Foreign employees normally need an employer-sponsored work pass, and the company usually handles approval, medical checks, and related immigration procedures. Do not begin work on a tourist visa. Before relocating, confirm salary, accommodation, meals, transport, insurance, contract terms, and visa sponsorship. Malaysia is warm and humid year-round, so expect tropical weather and seasonal monsoon conditions depending on the region.
