Company Info

The Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto is a luxury hotel operated by Marriott International, one of the world’s largest hospitality companies. Located beside the Kamogawa River, the hotel combines contemporary luxury with Kyoto’s traditional aesthetics, culture, and sense of omotenashi. It provides accommodation, fine dining, meetings and events, and spa and wellness services for international and domestic guests. Ritz-Carlton properties are known for highly personalized service, detailed operating standards, and a strong focus on employee development. Team members work in a multicultural environment and are expected to anticipate guest needs, protect privacy, and create memorable experiences. Employment may include Marriott-related benefits, training opportunities, and access to an international hospitality network, subject to the specific contract and local employment conditions.

Destination Guide

Japan offers strong opportunities in luxury hotels, resorts, restaurants, wellness, tourism, technology, and education, especially in Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Okinawa, and Hokkaido. Hospitality employers value reliability, service awareness, language skills, and cultural sensitivity. Daily life is safe, convenient, and well connected, with excellent public transport, varied food, seasonal festivals, and a mix of modern cities and traditional communities. Kyoto is culturally rich but housing can be expensive and Japanese is important for many local interactions. Foreign workers generally need an employer-sponsored visa matching their role, such as Engineer/Specialist in Humanities/International Services, and must meet immigration and qualification requirements. Applicants should confirm sponsorship, working hours, accommodation, insurance, taxes, and relocation support before accepting an offer. Learning basic Japanese, arranging a residence card and bank account, and budgeting for deposits and moving costs will make relocation easier.
