Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island nation, but it offers a diverse lifestyle across Dubai, Abu Dhabi and the other emirates. Hospitality, tourism, retail, aviation, food and beverage and facilities management provide many job opportunities, particularly in major hotel destinations. The culture blends Emirati traditions with a large international workforce; modest dress, respect for religion and awareness of local laws are important. Dubai offers beaches, shopping, restaurants and nightlife, while living costs can be high, especially for private housing. Employers commonly sponsor work visas, arrange medical testing and provide an Emirates ID after hiring. Candidates should confirm that the employer covers visa costs and carefully review salary, accommodation, transport, meals, insurance, leave and working hours before relocating. Public transport is strongest in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, and English is widely used in workplaces.
