Destination Guide

Australia offers hospitality opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, tourism, events and visitor services, particularly in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, the Gold Coast and regional destinations. Workplace culture is generally friendly, direct and team-oriented, with strong emphasis on safety, punctuality, customer service and equal opportunity. Lifestyle varies from busy city living to relaxed coastal communities, with excellent beaches, outdoor activities and a relatively high cost of living in major cities. Most overseas workers need a visa with work rights, such as a Working Holiday visa, employer-sponsored visa or another eligible temporary visa. Requirements depend on nationality, age, qualifications and occupation. Before relocating, applicants should confirm visa conditions, accommodation costs, tax file number requirements, healthcare arrangements and employment awards. Public transport is practical in Sydney, although a driver’s licence can help with some hospitality roles.
