Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi offering the largest range of hotel, restaurant, tourism, retail, and aviation jobs. The country is highly multicultural, and English is widely used at work, while Arabic is the official language. Dubai provides a modern lifestyle, excellent dining, beaches, shopping, public transport, and a busy social scene, though rent and summer temperatures can be high. Hospitality employees commonly receive employer-provided accommodation or an allowance, meals, transport, health insurance, and annual airfare. For overseas hires, the employer normally sponsors a residence and work visa after the employee passes medical and identity checks. Candidates should verify contract terms, working hours, overtime, benefits, probation, and accommodation before relocating. Dubai is generally safe and convenient, but local laws and customs should be respected, particularly regarding public behavior, alcohol, and dress.
