Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is a multicultural federation with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, food and beverage, retail, aviation, and business services. Dubai offers a fast-paced international lifestyle, modern transport, beaches, shopping, dining, and extensive entertainment, although accommodation and schooling can be expensive. The culture combines Islamic traditions with a highly global workforce; respectful dress and behavior are important, particularly during Ramadan and in public places. Most hotel employees receive an employer-sponsored work visa, medical coverage, and sometimes accommodation, meals, transport, and flights. Employees must not work legally on a tourist visa. Before relocating, confirm the written offer, salary structure, accommodation, working hours, leave, insurance, and gratuity terms. The UAE has no personal income tax on employment earnings, but living costs vary significantly by emirate and lifestyle.
