Destination Guide

Qatar is a compact Gulf country surrounded by coastline rather than a traditional island, with Doha as its main employment and lifestyle hub. Hospitality, tourism, events, aviation, construction, retail, healthcare, education, and technology offer regular opportunities for international workers. The culture is welcoming but conservative: modest dress, respect for Islamic customs, and awareness of Ramadan practices are important. Doha provides modern malls, beaches, museums, restaurants, sports facilities, and strong international communities. Summers are extremely hot, while winters are pleasant. Most overseas employees need an employer-sponsored work visa and residence permit; the employer commonly manages medical checks, documentation, and sponsorship. Candidates should confirm accommodation, transport, insurance, airfare, leave, and contract terms before relocating. Qatar has no personal income tax on salaries, although living costs can be high, especially for private housing and schooling.
