Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, including Sharjah, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi. Hospitality, tourism, transport, retail, aviation, construction, healthcare, and logistics provide regular employment opportunities. The culture combines Islamic traditions with a highly international population; modest dress, respectful behaviour, and sensitivity during Ramadan are important. Lifestyle varies from affordable shared accommodation to modern urban living, with extensive shopping, beaches, restaurants, and desert activities. Employers commonly sponsor work visas, medical checks, Emirates ID processing, and sometimes accommodation, meals, transport, or annual flights. Before relocating, confirm the written offer, benefits, working hours, licence requirements, accommodation arrangements, and who pays visa costs. A UAE heavy vehicle licence or recognised equivalent is normally essential for bus-driving roles.
