Japan offers many hotel, restaurant, tourism, retail and teaching opportunities, especially in Osaka, Tokyo, Kyoto, Okinawa and resort areas. Hospitality workers can build careers with international hotel groups, although Japanese language ability is often preferred or required for guest-facing and operational roles. Japanese culture values punctuality, respect, cleanliness, teamwork and careful attention to detail. Life in Osaka offers excellent public transport, diverse food, shopping and generally lower living costs than Tokyo, though accommodation and commuting expenses should be planned carefully.
