Duty Engineer

Job Description

The Duty Engineer is responsible for the safe, reliable operation and maintenance of hotel facilities, including electrical, plumbing, air-conditioning, mechanical and general building systems. Requirements typically include a technical certificate or diploma in electrical, mechanical or building services engineering, relevant hotel or facilities-maintenance experience, and knowledge of safety procedures. The candidate is expected to respond promptly to breakdowns, complete preventive-maintenance tasks, inspect equipment, record maintenance activities and support smooth hotel operations. Good troubleshooting, communication and teamwork skills are important. The role usually involves rotating shifts, weekends, public holidays and occasional emergency call-outs. Marriott experience, local technical qualifications and knowledge of Malaysian regulations may be advantageous.
