Destination Guide

Maldives resort jobs are commonly available in front office, butler service, food and beverage, housekeeping, diving, watersports, engineering, finance, and wellness. Resort islands offer a structured lifestyle with staff accommodation, meals, uniforms, transport, and usually a communal international workforce. Local culture is predominantly Muslim, so respectful dress and behavior are important, particularly when visiting inhabited islands; alcohol is generally restricted to tourist resorts. Life can be peaceful and scenic but remote, with limited shopping and entertainment outside the resort. Foreign employees normally require a work visa and work permit arranged by the employer before or after arrival, and should not begin employment without proper authorization. Confirm contract terms, service charge, medical cover, flights, leave, and accommodation before relocating. Malé is the main gateway, while transfers to resort islands are by speedboat or seaplane.
