Destination Guide

Indonesia offers opportunities across hospitality, tourism, aviation, retail, technology, education, and international business. Jakarta, on Java, is the country’s main corporate center and provides the widest range of management and hotel careers, while Bali, Lombok, Batam, and other islands offer strong resort and tourism employment. Indonesian culture values hospitality, respect for seniority, community, and religious diversity. Life in Jakarta is energetic and convenient, with extensive dining, shopping, transport, and entertainment, although traffic and humidity can be challenging. Living costs vary considerably by neighborhood and lifestyle. Foreign nationals generally need an employer-sponsored work permit and appropriate limited-stay visa; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Employers normally handle sponsorship, immigration documentation, and related approvals. Relocating candidates should confirm salary, housing, insurance, taxes, transport, leave, and permit responsibilities before accepting an offer. Learning basic Indonesian is highly useful for daily life and workplace relationships.
