Destination Guide

Qatar is a compact Gulf country rather than an island, offering strong opportunities in hospitality, finance, construction, aviation, retail, healthcare, and technology. Doha is the main employment center and has a modern, international lifestyle with shopping malls, restaurants, beaches, museums, and sports facilities. The culture blends Islamic traditions with a large expatriate community; modest dress, respectful behavior, and awareness of Ramadan customs are important. Summers are extremely hot, while winters are pleasant and suitable for outdoor activities. Most foreign employees require an employer-sponsored work visa and residence permit, with the company usually arranging medical checks, documentation, and onboarding. Before relocating, confirm whether the package includes accommodation, transport, flights, insurance, and annual leave. Housing costs vary considerably, and public transport is improving, although many residents use taxis or cars. Qatar is generally safe, but local laws and employment regulations should be followed carefully.
