Destination Guide

Phuket offers employment opportunities in luxury resorts, hotels, restaurants, tourism, wellness, marine activities, retail, and property services. Hospitality roles are especially common in areas such as Mai Khao, Bang Tao, Patong, Kata, Karon, and Phuket Town. The island combines a relaxed beach lifestyle with busy tourist seasons, warm weather, international communities, and a diverse food and nightlife scene. Thai culture places importance on politeness, respect, family, Buddhism, and the concept of saving face; learning basic Thai is valuable. Foreign employees generally need an appropriate Non-Immigrant B visa and a Thai work permit, normally arranged with employer support before or after arrival. Relocation costs, accommodation, transport, health insurance, and visa responsibilities should be confirmed in the employment contract. Phuket has an international airport, hospitals, schools, shopping centers, and regular ferry connections to nearby islands.
