Destination Guide

Qatar is a compact Gulf country rather than an island, with Doha and Lusail serving as the main employment hubs. Hospitality, tourism, aviation, retail, events, construction, healthcare, and business services offer regular opportunities for international workers. The culture blends Islamic traditions with a highly international lifestyle; modest dress and respectful behavior are expected, especially in public and religious settings. Life is modern and convenient, with excellent shopping, restaurants, beaches, museums, and public transport, although summers are extremely hot. Employers commonly sponsor work visas, arrange medical checks, and issue residence permits after hiring. Many hotel packages include accommodation, transport, meals, healthcare, and annual airfare. Before relocating, confirm the written contract, benefits, working hours, probation terms, and visa sponsorship. English is widely used, while Arabic is an advantage.
