Destination Guide

Spain’s main island destinations include the Balearic Islands—Mallorca, Ibiza, Menorca and Formentera—and the Canary Islands, including Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura. Hospitality creates many opportunities in hotels, restaurants, resorts, events, entertainment, wellness and tourism, especially during the summer season. Island culture combines Spanish traditions with Mediterranean or Atlantic influences, local festivals, seafood, outdoor living and strong community life. The lifestyle is relaxed and scenic, although seasonal work can be demanding and accommodation may be expensive in popular areas. EU, EEA and Swiss citizens can work without a visa, while non-EU nationals generally need an employment visa or residence permit arranged with an employer. Applicants should check current Spanish immigration rules, secure written employment terms and research housing, transport, healthcare and seasonal conditions before relocating. Spanish is valuable, while English and German are particularly useful in tourist regions.
