Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi offering the largest hospitality and tourism job markets. Opportunities are common in hotels, restaurants, resorts, aviation, retail, events, and wellness. The culture combines Islamic traditions with a highly international lifestyle; modest clothing, respectful behavior, and awareness of Ramadan customs are important. Dubai offers beaches, shopping, dining, nightlife, desert activities, and excellent public transport, while living costs can be high, especially for housing. Most expatriate employees require employer-sponsored residence and work visas. Employers generally arrange the work permit, medical examination, Emirates ID, and residency process. Candidates should confirm salary, accommodation, meals, transport, insurance, probation terms, leave, and ticket benefits before relocating. English is widely used, though Arabic and other languages are useful.
