Destination Guide

The Cayman Islands offer opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, finance, retail, construction, healthcare, and professional services. Grand Cayman is the main employment and commercial center, while Cayman Brac and Little Cayman provide a quieter lifestyle and more limited job market. The culture is welcoming and multicultural, combining Caymanian traditions with influences from many expatriate communities. Life is generally relaxed, but housing, transportation, groceries, and utilities can be expensive. Beaches, snorkeling, diving, boating, and outdoor activities are major attractions. Foreign nationals normally need an employer-sponsored work permit before starting employment; the employer typically handles the application, and approval is not guaranteed. Candidates should confirm permit eligibility, medical and police-clearance requirements, contract terms, accommodation, insurance, and relocation costs before accepting an offer. A valid passport and clear documentation are essential, and accompanying family members may require separate permissions.
