Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly connected city-state with opportunities in hotels, tourism, engineering, technology, finance, healthcare, retail and logistics. Hospitality jobs are concentrated around Marina Bay, Orchard, Sentosa, Changi and the city centre, with English widely used at work. The culture is multicultural, orderly and service-focused, blending Chinese, Malay, Indian and international influences. Public transport is excellent, though accommodation and daily expenses can be high. Singapore has a tropical climate, efficient healthcare, plentiful food options and a busy but convenient urban lifestyle. Foreign workers normally need an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass, S Pass or relevant Work Permit; eligibility depends on qualifications, salary and sector rules. Employers usually guide successful candidates through the application process. Before relocating, confirm the contract, housing arrangements, medical coverage, pass approval and whether dependants qualify for accompanying visas.
