Destination Guide

Sri Lanka offers opportunities in hospitality, tourism, finance, information technology, healthcare, education, logistics, and business services, particularly in Colombo, Galle, Kandy, and resort regions. Its culture combines South Asian traditions, Buddhist and Hindu heritage, colonial influences, colorful festivals, and strong family and community values. Lifestyle costs are generally lower than in many Western countries, while Colombo provides modern shopping, restaurants, hospitals, and international schools. The island has tropical beaches, mountain landscapes, wildlife parks, and historic cities, although traffic and occasional power or economic disruptions can affect daily life. Foreign employees normally require an employment or residence visa supported by the hiring company, and should confirm current rules with Sri Lankan immigration authorities. Relocating candidates should arrange insurance, verify housing costs, review tax obligations, and secure written confirmation of salary, benefits, and visa sponsorship before moving.
