Destination Guide

Japan offers strong opportunities in hotels, tourism, restaurants, technology, finance, education, and international business, especially in Tokyo, Yokohama, Osaka, Kyoto, and Okinawa. The culture values punctuality, courtesy, teamwork, attention to detail, and respect for workplace hierarchy. Yokohama provides a more relaxed waterfront lifestyle than Tokyo while remaining highly connected by train. Living costs can be significant, particularly for housing, but public transport is efficient and healthcare is reliable. Foreign employees normally need an appropriate work status, such as Engineer/Specialist in Humanities/International Services, with the employer supporting the Certificate of Eligibility and visa application. A valid passport, employment contract, and suitable qualifications or experience are generally required. Learning Japanese is strongly recommended for daily life and many hospitality roles. Before relocating, candidates should arrange housing, resident registration, health insurance, pension enrollment, and tax procedures.
