Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island, but it offers a highly international lifestyle across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and the other emirates. Hospitality, tourism, aviation, retail, events, technology, construction, and finance provide strong employment opportunities, particularly for candidates with international experience. Dubai’s culture combines modern city life with Emirati traditions; respectful dress, punctuality, and awareness of Islamic customs are important. The lifestyle is convenient and energetic, with beaches, shopping malls, restaurants, desert activities, and extensive public transport, although summer temperatures are extremely high. Most expatriates require employer-sponsored residence and work visas. Employers commonly arrange medical testing, Emirates ID processing, and work permits, while dependants may be sponsored subject to salary and documentation requirements. Candidates should confirm accommodation, transport, insurance, probation terms, annual leave, and end-of-service benefits before relocating. Living costs, especially rent and schooling, should be planned carefully.
