Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is a federation of seven emirates, rather than an island, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi offering the largest hospitality job markets. Opportunities are available in hotels, restaurants, tourism, retail, aviation, events, and wellness. The culture combines Emirati traditions with a highly international population; respectful dress, punctuality, and awareness of Islamic customs are important. Lifestyle options include beaches, shopping malls, desert activities, nightlife, and a wide range of global cuisines, although housing and transport costs can be high. For most overseas workers, the employer arranges an employment visa, entry permit, medical examination, Emirates ID, and residency processing. Do not work on a tourist visa. Confirm accommodation, meals, transport, insurance, leave, probation terms, and contract conditions before relocating. Dubai is hot for much of the year, and many hospitality roles involve shift work.
