Destination Guide

Indonesia offers hospitality opportunities across Java, Bali, Lombok, Batam, and other resort islands, particularly in hotels, restaurants, tourism, events, and airport properties. Jakarta and Tangerang provide strong career prospects and urban conveniences, while Bali and Lombok offer a more relaxed lifestyle and larger international tourism communities. Indonesian culture values courtesy, community, family, and respect for religious traditions; workplaces are often multicultural. Living costs vary considerably, with Jakarta and Bali generally more expensive than smaller cities. Foreign nationals usually need an employer-sponsored work visa and stay permit, commonly arranged before starting employment; working on a tourist visa is not permitted.
