Destination Guide

Spain’s main island destinations include the Balearic Islands—Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera—and the Canary Islands, including Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura. Tourism creates regular opportunities in hotels, housekeeping, restaurants, maintenance, wellness, entertainment and guest services, especially during spring and summer. Island life offers warm weather, beaches, outdoor activities and a relaxed social culture, although housing can be expensive and seasonal employment is common. Spanish is important for daily life; English and other languages are valuable in resorts. EU and EEA citizens can work without a visa, while non-EU nationals generally need an employment-based residence and work permit arranged with an employer. Relocating candidates should secure a contract, accommodation, registration, healthcare coverage and a Spanish tax or identification number. Madrid is not an island, so this guide applies to island-based opportunities rather than the advertised Madrid position.
