Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island, but it offers a diverse lifestyle between modern cities, coastline and desert landscapes. Hospitality, tourism, aviation, retail, finance, technology and construction provide many job opportunities, especially in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah. The culture blends Emirati traditions with a large international community; modest dress and respect for Islamic customs are expected. Lifestyle options range from beaches and shopping malls to desert excursions, cultural sites and outdoor sports. Employers commonly sponsor work visas, residence permits, medical checks and sometimes accommodation, transport or insurance. Confirm the full benefits package before relocating. Costs vary considerably, with Dubai generally more expensive than Ras Al Khaimah. New arrivals should arrange document attestation, a local bank account and suitable health coverage, and understand local employment, alcohol and public-conduct regulations.
