Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, modern island city with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, finance, technology, healthcare and retail. Hotels and resorts regularly recruit front-office, food and beverage, housekeeping, culinary and management professionals, especially those with international experience and language skills. The culture is multicultural, organised and generally fast-paced, with English widely used at work. Residents enjoy excellent public transport, safe neighbourhoods, diverse food, shopping, beaches and green spaces, although housing and daily expenses can be high. Foreign employees normally need an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass, S Pass or Work Permit, depending on qualifications, salary and role. Employers usually guide successful candidates through the application process. Before relocating, budget carefully for accommodation, healthcare, transport and deposits, and check current Ministry of Manpower requirements. Singapore’s warm, humid climate and efficient infrastructure make it convenient for both professional and personal life.
