Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a Gulf country made up of seven emirates, including Sharjah, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi. Hospitality, tourism, facilities management, construction, aviation, retail, and healthcare provide many employment opportunities. Sharjah is known for its family-oriented lifestyle, museums, Islamic architecture, beaches, and comparatively lower living costs than Dubai. The culture is multicultural but socially conservative, so respectful dress and behavior are important. Summers are extremely hot, while winter is comfortable and popular for outdoor activities. Most expatriate employees require employer-sponsored residence and work visas; employers commonly arrange medical checks, Emirates ID processing, and labor permits. Candidates should confirm accommodation, transport, insurance, leave, flights, and end-of-service benefits before relocating. Public transport is improving, though many residents use taxis or private vehicles.
