Destination Guide

Japan offers hospitality opportunities in hotels, restaurants, resorts, bars, ski areas, and tourism businesses, especially in Osaka, Tokyo, Kyoto, Okinawa, and Hokkaido. The culture values punctuality, politeness, teamwork, cleanliness, and careful attention to guests. Osaka is lively and friendly, with excellent food, efficient public transport, and a lower cost of living than Tokyo, although central accommodation can still be expensive. Employees should expect structured workplaces, long periods standing, and busy seasons around holidays and tourism peaks. Foreign workers generally need an appropriate work visa, commonly supported by an employer; requirements depend on nationality, qualifications, and the position. A valid passport, employment contract, residence registration, health insurance, pension enrollment, and tax procedures are normally required after arrival. Learning basic Japanese greatly improves daily life and career prospects. Research housing, commuting costs, health coverage, and employer-provided meals or accommodation before relocating.
