Common roles include hotel operations, restaurant service, culinary work, sales, spa services, diving, guest relations, and events. Bangkok provides year-round career options and urban convenience, while the islands offer a relaxed lifestyle, beaches, outdoor activities, and strong seasonal tourism. Thai culture values politeness, respect, family, and saving face; modest dress and awareness of local customs are important. Living costs vary, with Bangkok and major resort areas generally more expensive than smaller towns.
