Destination Guide

For this position, the relevant destination is Bali, Indonesia, especially Ubud. Bali offers opportunities in luxury hotels, restaurants, wellness resorts, tourism, events, and guest services, with strong demand for English-speaking hospitality workers and interns. Balinese culture is deeply shaped by Hindu traditions, temple ceremonies, dance, music, and community life; respectful clothing and behavior are important. Ubud is greener, quieter, and more cultural than the southern beach areas, with rice terraces, markets, yoga studios, cafés, and outdoor activities. Living costs vary, but shared accommodation and local food can make the area manageable on an internship allowance. International interns must obtain the correct Indonesian visa or stay permit arranged with the host organization; working or training on a tourist visa is not permitted. Confirm sponsorship, accommodation, insurance, duration, and permitted activities before travel. Bali has a tropical climate, busy traffic, and seasonal wet weather, so practical planning is essential.
