Destination Guide

Bali is Indonesia’s best-known island for hospitality employment, especially in resorts, restaurants, wellness, tourism, and events. Ubud is known for Balinese Hindu culture, temples, arts, rice terraces, yoga, and a quieter inland lifestyle, while beach areas offer more nightlife and international communities. Living costs vary, but shared accommodation and transport are usually important considerations. Local customs emphasize respect, modest behavior at temples, and community ceremonies. Foreign workers must obtain the correct Indonesian work authorization and employment visa; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Employers commonly assist with sponsorship and documentation, but candidates should confirm the visa type, accommodation, insurance, meals, service charge, and contract terms before relocating. Indonesia offers rich cultural experiences, warm weather, and strong tourism opportunities, though traffic, humidity, and seasonal business fluctuations should be expected.
