Destination Guide

Indonesia offers hospitality opportunities across Jakarta and Java, Bali, Lombok, the Riau Islands, Sulawesi, and other tourism centers. Jakarta, on Java, is a fast-paced business hub with international hotels, restaurants, and strong career networks. Bali offers a more relaxed lifestyle and abundant resort work, while Lombok and the island destinations provide opportunities in leisure tourism, diving, and boutique hospitality. Indonesian culture values politeness, community, respect for elders, and religious diversity. Living costs vary considerably: Jakarta and Bali’s popular areas can be expensive, while smaller cities are more affordable. Employees relocating for work should confirm salary, accommodation, insurance, transport, and service-charge arrangements. Foreign nationals must obtain employer-sponsored work authorization and the appropriate KITAS; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Learn basic Indonesian, expect tropical weather, and research healthcare, housing, traffic, and local customs before moving.
