Destination Guide

Malaysia is a multicultural country rather than a single island destination, with opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, tourism, retail, technology, finance, and education. Major hospitality markets include Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Penang, Langkawi, Sabah, and Sarawak. The culture blends Malay, Chinese, Indian, and indigenous influences, with English widely used in tourism and business. Lifestyle costs are moderate compared with many international cities, although Kuala Lumpur and island resorts can be more expensive. Malaysia offers tropical weather, diverse food, beaches, rainforests, and efficient domestic travel. Foreign employees normally need employer sponsorship and an approved Employment Pass before starting work; requirements depend on nationality, salary, qualifications, and the role. Relocating to Putrajaya is generally convenient, with modern housing, public transport links, schools, shopping, and access to Kuala Lumpur. Candidates should confirm visa sponsorship, accommodation, insurance, working hours, and benefits with Marriott before accepting an offer.
