Destination Guide

Australia is a large country rather than an island destination, and Brisbane is a warm, growing city on the east coast of Queensland. Hospitality opportunities are available in hotels, resorts, restaurants, events and tourism, particularly in Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Sydney, Melbourne and regional destinations. Australian workplaces are generally multicultural, practical and informal, with strong emphasis on punctuality, workplace safety, fair treatment and customer service. Brisbane offers a relaxed lifestyle, outdoor activities, public transport, river precincts and easy access to beaches and national parks. International workers usually need an appropriate visa, such as a Working Holiday visa, student visa with work rights, employer-sponsored visa or skilled visa. Check current requirements with the Australian Department of Home Affairs. Relocating requires evidence of funds, accommodation planning, tax and banking arrangements, health insurance where relevant, and an Australian bank account and tax file number.
