The Chief Engineer is responsible for the safe, reliable and efficient operation of all hotel engineering systems, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, fire protection and building services. Candidates typically need several years of engineering or hotel maintenance experience, strong technical knowledge, leadership ability and familiarity with preventive-maintenance programs, safety standards and local regulations. A relevant engineering qualification, practical problem-solving skills and good communication are expected. The successful candidate will lead the engineering team, manage contractors and maintenance budgets, respond quickly to equipment issues, support renovations and ensure guest rooms and public areas remain comfortable and operational. Experience in an international hotel, knowledge of energy conservation and the ability to work flexibly, including during emergencies, would be advantageous.
