Destination Guide

Malaysia is a multicultural country rather than a single island, with opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, tourism, retail, technology, manufacturing, and business services. Kuala Lumpur and Selangor offer the widest range of hospitality and corporate roles, while Penang, Langkawi, Sabah, and Sarawak provide strong tourism employment. Malay, Chinese, Indian, and indigenous cultures influence food, festivals, languages, and daily life. Living costs vary: urban areas are more expensive, but public transport, local food, and healthcare can be relatively affordable. Employees enjoy a tropical climate, diverse cuisine, shopping, beaches, and access to nature. Foreign workers normally need an employer-sponsored employment pass or relevant work permit arranged before starting work; requirements depend on nationality, role, salary, and sector. Candidates should confirm sponsorship, accommodation, insurance, tax, contract terms, and relocation costs directly with the employer. English is widely used in hotels, while Malay is useful for daily life.
