Destination Guide

Malaysia is a multicultural destination with opportunities in hospitality, tourism, retail, technology, education, healthcare and business services. Putrajaya is not an island; it is a modern mainland city near Kuala Lumpur, known for government buildings, parks, lakes and good road connections. Malaysia offers a relatively affordable lifestyle, excellent food, tropical weather and a mix of Malay, Chinese, Indian and international influences. Kuala Lumpur provides the closest major airport, extensive shopping and nightlife, while nearby islands such as Langkawi, Penang and the Perhentians offer beaches and diving. Foreign workers normally need an employer-sponsored work permit, and should not begin employment before approval. Employers often guide visa applications and medical checks. Relocation costs vary, so confirm accommodation, transport, insurance, meals, overtime and benefits before accepting an offer. Learning basic Malay and respecting local customs, religious practices and dress expectations will make settling in easier.
