Destination Guide

Malaysia offers varied opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, retail, technology, education, and international business. For island living, Langkawi is popular for resorts, beaches, and a slower lifestyle, while Penang combines heritage culture, excellent food, urban amenities, and a strong hospitality sector. Sabah and Sarawak on Borneo provide opportunities in eco-tourism and nature-based travel. Malaysian culture is diverse, blending Malay, Chinese, Indian, and Indigenous traditions, with festivals and food reflecting this mix. Living costs are generally moderate, though island resorts can be more expensive. Putrajaya itself is not an island; it is a modern city near Kuala Lumpur with good roads and public transport connections. Foreign employees normally need an employer-sponsored Employment Pass, while short-term visits do not permit employment. Candidates should confirm visa eligibility, medical requirements, accommodation, transport, and relocation costs with the employer before moving.
