Destination Guide

Phuket is Thailand's largest island and offers strong employment opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, tourism, wellness, water activities and retail. The culture blends Thai traditions, Buddhist values, local seafood communities and international influences. Life is generally relaxed, with beaches, markets, temples, nightlife and outdoor activities, although high-season work can be demanding. Living costs vary: resort areas such as Bang Tao and Patong are more expensive, while Phuket Town is often more affordable. Foreign workers normally need an employer-sponsored Non-Immigrant B visa and a Thai work permit before legally starting work; requirements depend on nationality and position. Employers commonly assist with documentation, but candidates should confirm visa, accommodation, transport, meals, medical checks and service-charge terms in writing. Phuket has an international airport and regular connections to Bangkok and other destinations.
