Destination Guide

Phuket is Thailand’s largest island and a major tourism and hospitality hub, offering jobs in hotels, restaurants, tourism, retail, wellness, marine activities, sales, and finance. The lifestyle combines beaches, outdoor activities, international dining, lively nightlife, and quieter local communities. Thai culture places importance on respect, politeness, family, Buddhist traditions, and saving face; learning basic Thai is useful and appreciated. Foreign workers generally need a valid job offer, a Non-Immigrant B visa, and a Thai work permit arranged with employer support before starting work. Requirements can vary by nationality and position, so applicants should confirm details with the Thai embassy and employer. Relocation costs, housing, transport, health insurance, and taxes should be discussed in advance. Phuket has an international airport, private hospitals, shopping areas, and established expatriate communities.
