Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island, but it offers a diverse destination for work and relocation, especially in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Hospitality, tourism, food and beverage, retail, aviation, construction and technology provide many employment opportunities. UAE workplaces are highly multicultural, and Arabic and English are widely used; respect for local Islamic customs, modest public behavior and religious holidays is important. Dubai offers beaches, shopping, restaurants, nightlife, desert activities and excellent public transport, although housing and summer temperatures can be challenging. Most overseas employees require employer-sponsored residence and work visas. Employers commonly arrange entry permits, medical testing, Emirates ID processing and health insurance, but the contract should be checked carefully. Candidates should confirm accommodation, transport, meals, leave, salary and recruitment fees before relocating. A passport, authenticated qualifications where required and a valid employment offer are normally needed.
