Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, with Dubai offering especially strong opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, retail, aviation, and events. The culture combines Islamic traditions with a highly international lifestyle; modest dress, respectful behavior, and awareness of local customs are important. Dubai provides modern transport, shopping, beaches, entertainment, and a busy social scene, although accommodation and living costs can be high. Hospitality employees commonly work long shifts, weekends, and public holidays. For most expatriate employees, the employer arranges a residence and work permit after entry, while interns may require an appropriate internship, student, or employment visa depending on their status and nationality. Confirm sponsorship, insurance, accommodation, transport, and contract conditions before relocating. Bring attested documents where required and budget for deposits, travel, and initial expenses.
