Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a Gulf federation offering strong opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, aviation, retail and events, especially in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Hospitality jobs attract workers from around the world, creating a multicultural environment where English is widely used. Local culture values respect, modest dress, courtesy and awareness of Islamic customs; alcohol is regulated and public behaviour should remain respectful. Dubai offers modern housing, beaches, shopping, dining and entertainment, although rent and summer heat can be challenging. Employers normally sponsor a work permit and residence visa after issuing a contract; employees should not work on a tourist visa. Confirm salary, accommodation, transport, insurance, leave and recruitment fees before accepting. Bring attested qualifications where required, complete medical and Emirates ID procedures, and budget for initial expenses. Company-provided accommodation can make relocation considerably easier.
