Destination Guide

Aruba offers hospitality jobs in hotels, restaurants, casinos, water sports, retail, transportation, and tourism services. The island has a multicultural population, with Papiamento and Dutch as official languages; English and Spanish are also widely spoken. Life is relaxed and sunny, with beaches, outdoor activities, strong international influences, and a relatively high cost of housing and imported goods. Most workers live near Oranjestad, Noord, or the hotel areas, and transportation is commonly by car, bus, or taxi. Foreign applicants generally need an employer-sponsored work permit and legal residence authorization before starting employment; requirements vary by nationality and contract. Employers may provide guidance, accommodation, meals, transport, or relocation assistance, but these should never be assumed. Candidates should verify contracts, permit responsibility, salary, service charges, housing, insurance, and taxes before relocating.
