Hospitality, restaurants, resorts, casinos, water sports, transportation, retail, and construction provide many job opportunities, although competition can be strong and living costs are relatively high. Aruba’s culture blends Caribbean, Dutch, Latin American, and international influences. English, Dutch, Spanish, and Papiamento are widely used. Popular activities include beach outings, snorkeling, diving, windsurfing, hiking, and exploring Oranjestad. Non-Aruban citizens generally need an employer-supported work permit before starting employment; requirements vary by nationality and position, so applicants should confirm details with the employer and Aruba’s authorities. Relocation planning should include housing, transportation, health insurance, document legalization, and proof of qualifications. Employer-provided accommodation is not guaranteed.
