Destination Guide

Aruba offers employment opportunities in hotels, restaurants, casinos, tourism, retail, transportation, construction, and marine activities. The culture blends Dutch, Caribbean, Latin American, and international influences, with Papiamento, Dutch, English, and Spanish commonly heard. Life is sunny, relaxed, and outdoor-oriented, although housing and daily expenses can be high in popular areas. Palm Beach and Oranjestad provide the most hospitality activity, while buses and taxis connect major districts. Foreign workers generally need an employer-sponsored work and residence permit before starting employment; requirements can include passport documents, police records, medical checks, and proof of employment. The employer normally coordinates the application, but approval is not automatic. Candidates should confirm salary, accommodation, transportation, insurance, permit support, and contract terms before relocating.
